HAHAHA, I laughed so hard at this! It’s so cute! It’s what Filbert said when I swiped the fleas off his head XD

Sooo…. I spent most of yesterday with my ACWW game on, but not to play. I equipped myself with shovel in one hand and pen in the other, and went around my whole town making a hand-drawn map on an A4 sheet of paper! For some reason I was previously under the umpression that it was less work than using the online map generator X_X

Thank goodness I was able to print off a 64×64 grid off the internet, but that was bloody confusing in itself, because you couldn’t simply say you wanted it 64×64; You had to specify how many cm x cm, how wide a border to have -which would cut straight off from the grid instead of adding a border- and how many “lines” to have per centimetre! I mean what the heck is “lines”?? Is that how many spaces or how many actual drawn lines? And if it’s the latter, how stupid to calculate that way!>_< Anyhow in the end the specifications were (for future reference >_>): 17x17cm, 0.5cm border and 4 lines per cm. So lines actually did mean “spaces”.

And then of course you can imagine what a mess it would have been to make a map of a game that way =_=. I equipped the Shovel because I could measure squares with it, but when you think that that’s the only way, that’s pretty annoying. But I’m pretty sure this method was less confusing to me than being confronted with those acre options online all made up with squares that don’t feel like your town at all. Well my map did turn out pretty much the same way, but at least I know it a lot better now

But boy were there mistakes. You can make the mistake of making a line one square shorter or longer, and you won’t notice until you’ve drawn most of the rest up and reached a wall. Then you go back and count everything again to find what you missed o.o

Anyhow I got it done in the end. And of course even though I’m not on ACWW to play, everyone else in the town is still there and alive and ready to come up for a chat. And all the mozzies are still there for a drink…

Well actually the first thing I did when I turned on the game was not to work on my map, but to check out both the shops first I found something that went well with my pirate outfit: a curly moustache! XD

And uh… the next thing was to take a pic with the guard dogs

Okay then I paid a visit to all my neighbours ^^; But then I swear I got to work on my map! >_< I did fish and stuff along the way though

Yay! That’s 10K in my pocket I didn’t know these were August fish. I never saw one in August!

Kody was hanging around at the time and came up to me when I push the fish away…

Yay no.2! ^_^ even though I didn’t really want his pic anyway and once again had no idea how I got to be his friend. Why doesn’t Anabelle give me hers?? >_<

Then I caught a popeyed goldfish and wondered if goldfish were special in the house compared to other fish.

They are! That’s so cute! Pity I’m running out of space downstairs (Well actually there’s plenty of space; just a stupid item limit T_T)

Random picture of Mabel…. to prove she’s a HEDGEHOG! Porcupines have big tails, right? And she doesn’t have any. And porcupines have rounded, beaver-like snouts while hedgehogs have the pointy noises. I’m sure, judging from all the other careful, albeit cartoony, animal designs of Animal Crossing, that they would have distinguished clearly between the features of a porcupine and those of a hedgehog
Plus hedgehogs are cuter anyway; Don’t you want your local seamstresses to be cute?

Speaking of tails, Anabelle has a different tail to all the other anteaters, doesn’t she? Cos she’s a pangolin with a flat, armoured tail, not a giant anteater with a bushy one. But it’s drawn wrong in fanart so many times…

And speaking of Anabelle, I think I finally found her an outfit as nice on her as her first dress. I saw it in the shop and bought it for her to satisfy her clothing craze, but she changed out of it by the end of the day >.<

For some reason I went over to Curt’s; He’s moving! Pity, cos he’s my favourite bear in this town, but at least he’s a bear (so maybe a new kind of animal can move in). All I said was “bye”. Let’s see if he goes.

But now I have my whole town’s pictures!! Cos everyone’s been having trouble bloody deciding if they’re moving or not. I’m running out of space to display them though.

Today I’m plotting all my fruit and oak and cedar trees onto it and then I can use it to plan my town better. There’s a mistake with the left side of the waterfall and the gatehouse lake, but they were minor and didn’t disrupt anything else

But damn…. next time I’m using the bloody generator x_x

omg, she was one of my first neighbors WAY back when i still had my first town, santa!!! -___- i named it that because i was out of ideas, and i got it for Christmas, plus i was 6. Vesta iz cuuuute!!! i miss that town. btw, don’t ever plant fruit trees without a plan for how they’ll look, or your town will suck. (well, maybe not, but lets just say, i was sick of peaches. YUCK!!! ) my second died of an AR attack, not because of a seed, well, not entirely) i got sick of having a million useless items coating my town. The map of santa was gorgeous though. I was straight south of the museum, plus that was southwest of tn,shop and ables, which was in the corner. then the gate to the right, and the town hall was on the opposite side.

haha, this is such a classic post title! I really love the hand-drawn map you did; I’ve thought about doing that so I can record where my grass and dirt patches are (recording whether it’s grass, dirt, or partial grass along in each square), but I don’t know if I’ll ever get around to it!

Well, part of the reason why I’m commenting on this older post is that I was hoping less people would see it… I just got a comment that made me sad on my blog and wondered if anyone’s ever done that to you before. The same person, I think, left a nice comment yesterday on my latest post, I don’t get it…

What a terrible comment to leave! That’s never happened to me thus far, but if that person doesn’t take back what they said as a mistake or the result of a bad day at school… I would mark it as spam and forget about them. You know your blog is fine, so even if they left a nice comment previously, following up with such a comment proves that their main purpose is to troll.

I thought the in-game map generally had the grass patches right so I go by that, but I’m really starting to feel the need to map all of the dead squares in my town… but any sort of mapping is so much work! xP

Speaking of comments, I can’t wait to have a good read through your latest post this weekend about your visit to Bundeena! ^_^ I haven’t had time to do so yet which is why I haven’t left anything

  Yeah, maybe I could simply overlay a grid on top of a picture of my town’s map to save time, but I don’t know how accurate it would be since DS screenshots taken with a camera are often tilted at an angle and hard to crop in a perfect rectangle/square. I thought a gridded map with the dirt/grass patches might be handy for landscaping purposes and planning good places to lay down patterns and flowers. As for planning trees, I definitely want to make a map of my town’s dead spots, too! I wish I had done it before now so that I could get the perfect layout of trees for Autumn. I really don’t like my current spread of trees — it’s too random, I think — but since the leaves are going to change color soon, I don’t want to start dead spot testing.

    Yes, it is astounding that such people exist. It is the internet though – a perfect one-way mirror – so realistically all it takes for this sort of thing to happen is somebody with nothing interesting to do and a bit of spare time. By the way, have you blocked his IP? Or does he change them?

      Yeah, I blocked his IP and deleted his comments once I saw that one on Mayu’s blog, which is so much worse than saying my characters are ugly or whatever. I feel bad that this negativity is now connected to one of your great older posts (and one that Mayu herself commented on ), so feel free to delete this thread of comments if you want. Thank you again for your advice, though; I see now that his comment wasn’t worth getting sad over and that he’s just looking for reactions. I wish there was someone to moderate Mayu’s comments to delete that one.
