Animal Crossing 3DS coming a little bit closer

Juuuust a little bit.

So, not many pictures of my own to post yet; I haven’t taken many since my last post, even though I’ve played nearly every day.

BUT I am very excited to see the new trailer for Animal Crossing for 3DS, after staying up til 2am to catch Nintendo’s E3 presentation this morning and not seeing anything for Animal Crossing

So just a few scenes that I liked from the new trailer ^_^

Tom Nook’s Noook’s Cranny clock!

You remember, right?

"I bet I stood in front of it in my very first game and tried to purchase it."

You finally get to hang a lovely clock on the wall ^__^

What a badly-timed shot, it looks like they’re trying to see up her skirt.

Hey you know, long-bodied characters might not be so bad if you can dress them up this nicely. I like the hair, too.

And lastly…

I love this bit that they slotted into the video
But it cuts to the next scene before you can see what he does with the Mastersword

Well, that’s it from me this time. It’s looking like it’s going to be a cool game

One thing I still don’t like about the graphics is that white shiny outline around all the animals that I hoped they’d fixed after their original trailer. I said at the time it makes them look copy-pasted. Other than that the new visuals fit nicely with each other.

Hi Kammile! Yeah, won’t swimming be awesome! I’m waiting for them to make a 3DS with better battery life before I buy one. 3 hours max is ridiculous o_o

No, still haven’t got a 3DS… It seems I really am waiting for 3DS Animal Crossing to come out first
I even bought a copy of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (because I wanted the preorder bonus – an ocarina!) without anything to play it on!

(I also still think the 3DS battery needs improvement.)

If you get AC:3DS, do you think you will stop playing Wild World? It makes me a bit sad to think that there will probably be a sharp drop in the amount of people playing WW when it comes out, since one portable Animal Crossing game is enough. But then again, if AC:3DS is good enough, I might not even miss WW.

(I feel the same way about the long character bodies; at first I thought they were horrible, but that red riding hoodie looks so good elongated! And you’ll actually see the tops of pattern-made shirts now. )

Hmm I haven’t really thought about it yet – I was just so excited a new AC in 3D was coming… But it would really be a shame to just quit on my town, what with all those hybrids flourishing and catalogues nearly filled. I know I won’t stop playing immediately just because a new one comes out (I’ve never done that with any game), but as you said, “one Animal Crossing game is enough” and it might become too much work. But in the end it might just come down to whichever game is the better, and who knows – I could want to keep ACWW as my main town.

  Yeah, I feel about the same. I’m so fond of and used to Wild World that I think it’s hard for me to get into different Animal Crossing games, like I don’t know if I will ever play in my AC:GC town regularly again even though I think it’s a great game. :/ And I never got City Folk even though I like some of the changes…
  
  The reason for this late reply is that I found some information about AC:3DS I’d never seen before: a trailer and a town map.

    I was looking at that map for the first time literally right before I came to check on my blog comments I just found out about the new AC 3DS stuff today I thought the flowers dripping after being watered was a very nice touch -much smarter than the way they just sparkle in Magician’s Quest.

      Oops, you’d already seen everything. xP Yeah, that will be handy! Watering flowers takes me a while because I’m paranoid about whether or not the water hit the right place. My favorite ‘new thing’ was the well and that town map looks crazy!

        I think so, it looks pretty great to me! I might even get my dad interested in Animal Crossing again. Decorating my town is one of my favorite things to do in Animal Crossing, and it looks like there will be lots of new ways to do it in AC:3DS. I just hope that you can still lay patterns on the ground and that grasswear is either gone or optional & improved.

        Oh but is it true that in ACCF you can also coax grass to grow where once there wasn’t any? If that’s the case then I wouldn’t mind grasswear as the underside if it’s caused by running or something (not sure how ACCF works)… could make natural footpaths ^^

        It’s true that you can re-grow grass in AC:CF, but it’s a very slow process (planting flowers and trees speeds it up though). I do think the natural paths look great in AC:CF and in one of the screenshots for AC:3DS. I just hope that making natural-looking paths is a part of your mayor duties, not a result of grasswear. Because the grasswear in City Folk really limited one’s mobility; it made some people think twice about chasing bugs or searching for fossils. :/

        Yeah, hopefully if grasswear returns, though, the grass won’t be as fragile as it was in City Folk (which left many players with deserts)..

Great blog! Very informative Im personally buying the 3ds for this game in particular! It looks really good Love the graphics and the map looks MASSIVE! Im sososo excited, Do you know the date the actual game is coming out?

I think they still haven’t published a release date, even though this was one of the first games they previewed! I hope that means they are still taking their time polishing it up to make a well-rounded game. The general consensus in forums is that a realistic release time will be around June/July 2012. Happy waiting, haha.
