Sorryyy, I have a TON of other pictures to show you from over the past 2 months, but I’ve just gotta post about this first x3

But first let me give you this picture that I just finished putting together of Mathilda’s very lovely home in the northern part of town. It looked beautiful and so cosy, sitting in the snow among the red roses and tulips and with the lights on, so I wanted to share that with you now, because the rest of this post isn’t spectacular pictures-wise. And there’s Pierce in the background, just doing his thing.

So… what’s this happy day all about?

As you can see, Redd was in town again this Tuesday, and thankfully I was able to visit him despite Nook’s already being closed.

Because I was stupid, I didn’t take a photo on in the inside, because since when does Redd give you what you need, when you need it? And an authentic one at that.

Well, he did so this day The solemn painting is the last I need for my art exhibit, and there it was sitting pretty up the back of Redd’s tent, and upon gingerly handing it to Blathers (I closed my eyes at this point ), it turns out to be genuine! Hooray

Well, firstly, sorry for a post after so long that doesn’t even have pictures >.< But I saw a video last night of a discussion between the producer and the developers of the Animal Crossing game for 3DS that pointed out (or confirmed) some features of the new game. It’s an old video but I don’t think it was translated til a couple weeks ago and just had to post about it after watching it

So to recap…

❧ As Town Mayor, you can add outdoor benches and lamps to give your town its character.

❧ As Mayor, you have a secretary, “Shizu”, who may or may not be of help. I hope you can give her a makeover.

❧ You can customise the outside of your house! The walls, fence and letterbox! They better mean the roof too…

❧ The houses at the end of the map are “model homes”, other people’s house designs acquired via StreetPass!

❧ Tom Nook is the real estate agent in charge of the model homes.

     Lyle or Redd better not be in charge of Nookington’s… Oh wait, there’s the Mininooks.

❧ Across the railroad (north?) is a “shopping mall”

❧ The town is bigger than before I hope they mean even bigger than ACCF.

❧ Townies’ newly adjusted heights now reflect their species better, so now for example a squirrel only comes up to your nose and you’re the same height as an elephant. Naturally the bear is the tallest of them all.

❧ You can use your own designs on some parts of the furniture.

❧ Boys could wear a skirt…

Isn’t that awesome? You guys probably found out all this ages ago, but I must have been living under a rock the past month or so so I never knew we already had concrete facts about the upcoming game

.

MY OWN THOUGHTS

After some reflection, I think it’s a little sad to suddenly have the role of Mayor in the new Animal Crossing. All of a sudden you’re no longer part of your town, but stand above it. If they implement this new aspect too much, I think it would be lonely.

And also, I’m the type of gamer who will control as many aspects of the game as I am given the freedom to, doing endless research to find all the possibilities, only to spend days stressing over which one choice is the best one. In ACWW I already had control over the grass, house type and map layout. If I’m given more choice my brain will explode

I’m sure we all assumed though that we would start off as a normal citizen, and have to work our way up to being the Mayor. It might be just like that in the end, which I think would be perfect In that case it would be rewarding rather than lonely

Maybe more thoughts to come…

What is? My map!!
The one you got a preview of aaages ago! …That was one year ago! O_O Since then, it’s had a total facelift.

So without further ado I present…… xP

The New Bundeena Town Map! Sorry for the massive size!

You’re probably wondering where the heck this is coming from all of a sudden. Well basically back in my first town I was really crazy about getting a proper map of my town. In one attempt I hand-drew one, and in another I used the online map generator, but in the end I was still dissatisfied with the presentation.

Since the first version of the map you got a snippet of, created in December 2010, I’ve updated the background, improved clarity and added alllll those new flowers I’ve acquired over the past year! Now this map is up-to-date as of the 23rd November 2011 (but actually that’s because my game is one week behind and I really finished the map today!).

Here’s a look at my first map (1st Dec. 2010). You could see I was already starting on the main floral “attractions” I was going to have in my town.

I made the map from scratch in Photoshop, though the very first step was stealing a square grass, ground and water pattern off Mayu’s pattern page -.- Then with these I made Photoshop patterns for the stamp tool, and proceeded to create a colour version of my town layout.

The Sarouk town map generator was a huge help to me, and had a constant presence throughout the creation of the map, right up until I switched it’s layer opacity to zero and finally created a grid-free JPEG.

Here’s what I saw as I created the map. Occasionally I turned the grid layer off to see how the whole thing was coming along, but 99% of the time this is how I worked:

And of course, in my other hand was my DS! I’d walk to a new area, plot all the flowers, walk to a new area, plot all the flowers etc. Same with the trees. Since Photoshop allows you to work on multiple layers, I could separate the flowers, trees, buildings and background from each other at will.

In my final map, I ensured all the flowers were mapped by plotting all of them over a period of two days. You might see some flowers sticking out from under houses. That’s because those were plotted while no house was present on that lot.

This is the 2nd map (3 total), from April 2011.

I got really sick of the washy background of the original map, and also wanted a larger image, so I completely redid everything. (Er… but it’s the same size for you because I shrunk it for the blog )

But nothing changed from the April map to the current one, except for the addition of beaches and rocks (and of course many flowers ). I hope you can tell the different trees and plants apart.

Most of the trees are normal “oak” trees. The slightly bluish ones are cedars. Down by the water are my only two coconut trees, which I made a yellowy colour. I think you can work out what the normal trees with coloured spots in them mean

As for flowers, you can’t tell them apart aside from the blue rose, gold rose, and blue pansy. As for the rest, some of them were already planted in groups. All the flowers between my shops and town hall are pansies, and of course that patch of purple and black (and red) between the town hall and my house would be roses. All the flowers near my museum are also roses. Below my “cedar forest” are all tulips, and right of that are all white pansies. Oh! And I nearly forgot, the Jacob’s Ladders are the green flowers!

For fun, I also mapped as many of the clovers in my town as I could find, and in my final map up the top also added my patch of dandelion puffs I hope you can guess which ones they are.

And just for fun, here’s an image of my town with a black layer covering the background, so it’s easier to get an idea of how the flowers lie This is from the final version.

As you can see, I have lots of white flowers. I just don’t know what to do with them So I dump them together away from the other flowers, but then they proliferate!
And then you can sort of see where the pavements and ponds are, and how the river flows. And then you see a black line looking suspiciously like a path that leads from my museum to my shops
Mainly the other places that don’t have flowers are those out in the middle of nowhere, or where the trees are too dense to water easily between.

Woohoo, I got to Wi-Fi again!!
I doubt they need any introduction , but on the left is Kammile from StarCity, and on the right is Twisk (Amy) from Dafdilly

Amy had wanted to see my town during her favourite time in autumn, and luckily I had a huuuge chunk of time on the first Sunday of the month, so Kammile was able to join us!

It’s always a relief at the start when the loading arrow stops turning and the gates swing majestically open

It’s Twisk!

The first thing Twisk did was plant some 4-leaf clovers, a Jacob’s Ladder from her town and a pink cosmos for me ^^ Thanks Twisk!

We wonder around town, starting at the top left part of town. Twisk looks cute while she’s blowing on her dandelion puff ^_^
I sound a bit rude here but it’s because I was holding a dandelion puff too and only wanted Twisk to blow. (If I do it too the camera zooms out )

But then I went into the Ables’ and found it was empty! Then I went outside and there was Twisk

I love the sense of depth in this part of the museum ^^ I wish I could have gotten all of Twisk inside the frame though.

We take a moment to appreciate the mini art museum we get in Animal Crossing I really hope that we can also get the true names of the paintings and artist names in the 3DS version, because we don’t in our version of ACWW.

and who finally, after meticulous planning and preparation on Amy’s part, came back to Bundeena!

It was Flea Market Day. I wandered into Lily’s home and found my own actual tuxedo, which I had worn for… 1 year and 11 months before Lily bought it off me while I was trying out my newly acquired Grape shirt from Amy/Twisk. I thought it would be nostalgic to get it back… but Lily wouldn’t give it to me!

Oh well, I’m sure I have another one lying around somewhere…

Sigh… The autumn of hard-to-find fossils has arrived.

This is the day I discovered the clackercart could clacker! xP

Well, actually I got a book on ACWW recently (a Japanese book!) and there was a page of interactive items, among which the clackercart was pictured! But then of course when I pressed A on the item in-game nothing happened, like usual. Then I tried grabbing it and pushing, and it clackered! xD

The book is awesome, by the way. (An CWW book! It’s like you can enjoy the game without playing it! xP) I hope I can make a post about it some time. The catalogue is amazing.

Yellow might have suited the beach house feel better though… but I like red

Mathilda’s house was surrounded by red flowers before. Well, I forgot to water them and obviously lost a few, which Mathilda replaced. If Mathilda was playing gardener enough to replace surrounding empty squares with flowers, why couldn’t she just water them when they were wilted?

Or am I mistaken and gardening townies never actually water wilted flowers, only replacing them?

Yesss. Why am I standing here? Because I just shot at a UFO from this spot in the last split second before it was too late. I made the decision to run through the flowers this time because I haven’t seen this guy in ages >_< Luckily I didn’t kill any hybrids.

A Maoi statue! But I already have one, from the treasure hunt during the WiFi party in Dafdilly, which I’ve displayed in my courtyard, so this one… will stay in my pocket until I decide what to do with it Anyone need it for their catalogue?

To start with, I played a little during the daytime before Twisk’s visit to water my flowers, discovering that the Bug-Off was on. Not that I  bother myself with that often anymore, because I usually lose…

I have lots of “random” patches of flowers around town that are just flowers I don’t know what to do with. Well… after Amy and I found out that my old neighbour Pierce, the blue eagle who left my town over half a year ago, had recently moved to Kammile’s town StarCity, then to Jemma’s town USA, then on to Amy’s ‘other’ town Redbank, then finally into Amy’s current town Dafdilly , she offered to reserve him and try to get him back to my town after he moved, which he did, a few weeks back.

Well, in short, it meant I had another lovely visit from Amy’s character Twisk, which is what I’ve been trying to get at

I just realised I didn’t even blog about Twisk’s first visit back in August because I had no pictures! D: I better give you the link to her post for that too ^^;

I only have a handful of pictures from this time ’round though, because I kept having to shut the DS to hide it from a certain someone who kept on interrupting xP In the meantime Amy took plenty pictures of me sleeping =.=

Apparently that night, Amy heard and saw a couple of shooting stars in my town! I didn’t notice a single one.
But WOW, she tells me she received a throne once from the wishing star!

Neither of the two thrones she ever possessed needed to be bought from Nook! o.o Awesome luck xD

With time running out at my end, we decided the last places to visit for the night were Anabelle’s and Cyrano’s homes.

And apparently Cyrano had this to say about me -_-

After that we partied-over. Except that I pressed the wrong thing and saved-and-continued instead xP After we met again after that, lol ,  I pressed the right thing, and Twisk went back to Dafdilly, where the Bug-Off was still taking place, and I went to bed

Another mishmash post! ^_^ These happen when I don’t have a general idea about what my leftover pictures are about, because they cover such a long time and because… they’re generally about everything! :p

So as you can see, at the beginning of September my room was full of dinosaurs! But I’ll come to that later

Firstly… where we left off, after Kammile’s visit to my town and before my visit to Redbank:

I just selected “pay mortgage” just to muck around, but I had to laugh at Phyllis’ snide comment!

Pfft, this letter should probably have been posted earlier, but sometimes I forget to photograph a letter until weeks later

Finally! Now he can leave! Cos I really don’t want to see his house any longer >_<

I enjoy giving Blanca proper faces from time to time, but I’ve found the simple way out for those times when I can’t be bothered:
Give her a blank face, and just let Blanca be Blanca ^_^

Another time she wondered in with a decent face, though, so I just added that extra eye on the top of her face

So… there’s a bottled note that I’ve left lying on the beach right where I’m standing in this picture for months (probably 2), and this day I finally gave in a picked it up.
Well… it turned out to be a note-in-a-bottle from myself -_-;;

Inside, it read:

(I signed it Rain, cos I was dumb and forgot the outside still says “Sidney”)
I think I gave up and just sold the shirt to Nook I thought it wasn’t a great-looking shirt anyway.

Wow! I gave my DS touch screen a new protector, and look what a difference it makes! It’s clearer than my top screen, at the moment

Yeah, poor Anabelle, but I didn’t want to give her any clothes because I know her room will suffer

Well… the 2nd of September is a Friday, so the next day was going to be the Flea Market! So since I had alll those fossils (you probably saw from a while ago) dumped outside my house from over the last month or so, I needed to get Rain to clear alll of this furniture, and replace it with fossils!

Phew, all done!

I didn’t deliberately make it all Gothic-looking with the red design and candles – I just needed a light source and my snowman floor was too garish through the gaps between the skeletons

What it looks like with all gaps filled But of course this way nobody will be able to come in the door >_<

First customer, Anabelle! Umm… I gave up on her décor at this point; There are more important matters

Behind me is my purple and black roses patch, where I hope to breed blue roses, but I was starting to run out of space so… time to chop down the trees! Nooo D:
Now it’s much better, but the new trees won’t grow where I want them >_>

I got it from Wishy! The last spotlight item at Nook’s was the skeleton, and I missed it! D: Which is why, when I happened to catch a shooting star while not holding any tools and later received Wishy’s latter, I idly said in my head, “Give me a skeleton”. And that’s just what I got ^_^

Just a picture of this pattern Breeze made before I delete it to make space. It’s Mabel, of course! But it didn’t work very well on clothes, only as a pattern.

So I deleted it because…

Breeze had better patterns to make ^_^

Yep, it is exactly the butterfly shirt pattern, but with altered colours.

Designing and fixing patterns costs money, though, which Breeze had to earn on her own because her both her two friends were dead asleep upstairs in the attic–

Ack! That’s our white katana!!! What are you doing, girl?? Dx

Well… I guess that solves the problem of money… -_-;

I made it because I always felt the colours in the real butterfly shirt were too faint, which you can see here.

My problems were solved when I found sprite rip sheets on the internet of all the clothing patterns in ACWW, so all I had to do was copy the placement of each pixel onto the canvas

I named it the Monarch pattern (and then I, II, III etc gets added depending on how many times I edit it )

Haha, I don’t know if this is definite, but… it seems Lily means what she says!

She said all this when I swiped a flea of her head right after she had a conversation with Cyrano that left her fuming.
Rather than vent her anger on me like angry townies usually do, she stood still after I caught the flea, waiting to talk to me although she was still angry, and thanked me like this!

Well, that’s gonna be it for now. Believe it or not, I just dug up some more pictures, and actually it’ll make more sense for me to put those in a separate post. Life’s getting busy though, so I don’t know when that’ll be up!

As summer ticked by and space to run around in my town continued to shrink, and it began to look like it was going to be yet another year with no banded dragonfly for my museum… until Amy came to the rescue and invited me to her dad’s town to run around in: Redbank!

Oh sweet, sweet flower-free town, where I can run like the wind T_T

Amy wasn’t able to accompany me during my stay since she had class, but since it was my first visit… I took the liberty to snap up a few pictures ^^;

All this running space!!

I thought this part of Redbank was interesting. Since I approached it from the south, this bend in the river looked like a huuuge lake!

It is in fact Redbank’s lake, but I rarely see one from this angle. As I got nearer, it was like the horizon got a huge dip in the middle that got bigger and bigger, until the water appeared o_o

I was so excited I also took the liberty to go door-knocking and check out this town’s residents

Well, we’ll never know who this is Okay, there was a name, but I forgot >_>

Amy’s dad’s house! With Amy inside The actual character, Amy. I thought her character would be snoozing, but I guess she didn’t close the DS.

Umm, and that’s basically all the pictures for this day, because later I did something dumb…

Amy hadn’t moved from her spot, so I walked behind her… and headed for the bed xP Then as I hopped onto the bed, rather than block me, Amy slid smoothly down one square without moving. Aaand, I was pretty much stuck on the bed until I switched off my DS, because the game still thought Amy was in the way and wouldn’t let me get back off! D:
Well, that was the end of that day Why oh why did I jump on the bed? T.T

But… Amy kindly reopened Redbank’s gates the same time the next day and…

Did ya see, huh? Huh? Did ya?? xD

This time Amy was there, and the second I snatched this guy up, she saved the game.

Well, that’s the end of that! We ended WiFi and I headed back to my town.

Back in my town it was indeed the Fireworks Show. The final show of the year, and I finally see it.

Bam, bang, boom!

At times like these, you gotta appreciate the Mayor for his perseverance for standing outside all day or all evening during these events

While we’re at it, off to visit the museum

You have no idea…

But, despite all the excitement, the banded dragonfly is not the final bug for my museum, though it is the last one needed o_o That’s because, back in the day, I vowed never to donate the mosquito, until everything else was complete, BECAUSE THEY DRIVE ME NUTS

So actually, on this day I also had in my pocket a mosquito, which I’d kept for ages upstairs in my house…

Well, I was intending to donate it to Blathers (whether we wanted it or not ), but… I got cold feet in the last moment and chose not to give it to him after all D:

Sorryyy >_< It’s because my museum is still actually incomplete, because I haven’t found all the paintings for the art exhibit! I really don’t want this mosquito in my museum until it’s solely for the purpose of completing my museum >_< Let’s hope that day come soon!

*Sigh*

Well, for once I did not forget, K.K. is here to perform!

I don’t give him requests anymore because a surprise is nice, and I don’t think he gives repeats of bootlegs.

And maybe it’s troooo-ooo-oooo, that I can’t live without yoo-ooo…

How LONG has it been?

Anyway, here are some pictures from back in August, when Kammile came and visited my town, over my 3G internet connection! I sat next to my open window, connected to the internet on my phone, and activated the Mobile Access Point option. It was cold

I can’t even remember if I told you guys I finally caught a tarantula o_o All I can remember is: They kept biting me!! Last summer as well – I didn’t catch a single one! I even had a duel with the last one; it lunged at me 3 times while I ran around it.

B-but… you spend your whole day standing in the foyer!
