This is a blog about all the little goings-on in my Animal Crossing Wild World game, which I bought with my DS in July 2009.

I started this game on the 25th August 09, but actually I had another one going before this. I time-travelled non-stop and reset freely when I needed to.

My town had native apples, peaches and coconuts, the grass was square, the town hall was in the centre of town, and I really felt my town was perfect. But every time I read in some FAQ “don’t TT”, it made me consider rebuilding my town a little more. Finally, when the name “Nicetown” had become a bit too corny and idealistic for my liking, I decided I needed a new beginning.

I named my new town after a real place I know, surrounded by the sea and the woods and where people are carefree enough to go picking up shells and fish and relax at the cafe every day. It’s such an isolated little spot too that it hosts its own festivals and events ๐Ÿ™‚ And chances are you’ll bump into about five people you know on every walk you take.

Sound familiar? ๐Ÿ˜›

Now in my ACWW town I have apples, peaches, pears, oranges, cherries and coconuts. I’ve found all of the bugs and fish and fossils and I have more animal pics than I remember the number of. That’s compared to zilch from the previous game. In short, I’ve got way more this time around than I ever could have gotten cheating.

And since the days pass one at a time now, there is always something new to come, and so it needs an ACWW blog ^_^

Some hints about this blog to minimise confusion:

* Generally, picture commentaries are written below their respective pictures (especially in later posts).

* Starting from September 2010, clicking on most pictures do NOT take you to the original, but to the original of the next picture. I don’t understand why. From the new page, click on the thumbnail of the picture you orignally wanted to see enlarged.

* Alternatively, Right-click image > View image, then erase everything after “.jpg” in the URL ๐Ÿ™‚

EDIT 10 May 2011:
Hah! The curse is over! I changed blog themes (it used to be Quentin) to Hemingway, and the rubbish about muddled picture links and sizes is finished!
But still refer to above if problems persist >_>

* Screenshots are taken with my pocket camera.

* Sorry, I don’t really Wi-Fi.

  1. Yikes, didn’t see the reply!
    Hi Teru! I didn’t want to put pressure on you or anything (sorry if I did), just wanted to make sure you didn’t abandon us xD I can’t wait to read a new post of yours, but take your time, I hope you had a great Easter!

  2. know what’s crazy? i have been following our blog for more than 2 years.

  3. *your

  4. Oh teru! Your back from the dead! Oh god be praised!!!!! -hugs –

    1. Hi~ Yes I am, sort of ^^;

  5. Yes, sorry i was acting a bit dramaticaly, @_@ lol!

  6. Hey Teru, I just opened your birthday letter! The mail must have been clogged… Thank you so much for the blue rose! I have still yet to grow my own blue rose, but thanks to generous friends I now have 3! ๐Ÿ˜€ I’ll take good care of it, thanks again ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Wow, you got it!! ๐Ÿ˜€ I thought you lost it while TT-ing for the party, so I didn’t mention it ๐Ÿ˜›

      1. OMG I have been following your blog for TWO years Teru! You are amazing and talented! ^-^ I hope you`ll continue with your blog. I cant WAIT to see how you ACWW town is doing xD

        1. Wow, that’s a long time ๐Ÿ˜ฏ Thanks for following my blog x3 I hope I put something new up soon too, haha ^^;

          1. And I hope that you are getting to be able to do more posts, whenever you can. ๐Ÿ™‚ And how do you get so much pictures of the animals? I always wonder, like how long it took for you to get them. I only got, like, 7. ๐Ÿ˜€
            I wonder how an amazing and talented girl like you can make it this far in Animal Crossing. My other town, Oceanae, had native fruit, and had triangle grass. I had 20 Pictures, until my brother deleted my whole progress.
            Your posts always makes me smile, because it reminds me of how much I have missed Animal Crossing. I haven`t been
            playing it as often because of school -_- And you know how parents feel these days.
            BTW I love your new background, little white dots of snow. ^.^

            Have a good Christmas this year. ^_^

            1. It sounds like you did quite well in your old town, too. I just keep villagers from moving away and wait until I have their picture (talking to them often and trying not to make them unhappy), nothing special, and I hardly send letters. It takes probably ~3 weeks per townie. Oceanae is a really nice name, by the way ๐Ÿ™‚
              Thank you very much and I wish you a happy Christmas too ^^

              1. Thanks. I`ve recently made a new town called Oshianae, with Peach Trees and Grass that has circles on them. I`m currently making new patterns, and I noticed that they should have more features on making patterns.
                Anyways, Animal Crossing Wild World was the game I have played 24/7. (Kind of) Until now, I have alot of other things on my mind. I`m thinking of trying Animal Crossing City Folk. My friends talk about that game and I wonder what it`s like. All I know is that it wasn`t a dessert-like town like Animal Crossing Wild World. And I`m glad your still alive! ๐Ÿ˜€
                How is it going in your town? Anything special or what your town is like? I`m curious because whenever I read your blog, it sounds like your town is awesome ^.^

                In fact, I think your town is one of the best towns I have seen so far. Twisks Birthday post of yours nearly made me faint O.O The patterns were so 3D ๐Ÿ˜€

                Unfortunately, I am a bit busy at the moment, trying to earn some Bells. Can`t wait for your next update on your blog. ๐Ÿ™‚

                1. I quite like the way towns in City Folks are split by an irregular cliff through the middle, though I’ve never actually played it.
                  My town’s a bit behind with the times, lol. I’ve missed playing a lot of days because I’ve been a bit busy with other stuff. But I still have lots of pictures on backlog that maybe I can post about again soon ๐Ÿ˜›
                  Btw, the town in the post about Twisk’s birthday was actually her own town, Dafdilly ๐Ÿ˜€ She’s really good at making patterns.

                  1. Hey its me again NerdyDino… this is my other account. Im jealous. x_x

  7. Hey Teru! How is your flower moving/catching up process going?
    I’m afraid I couldn’t really keep up with or catch up on my own Wild World town and officially announced a sort of hiatus for now… ๐Ÿ˜ฆ But I’m really looking forward to AC:3DS and I’m sure I’ll be quite active in that and post about it. Did you see the Nintendo Direct thing recently on it?

    I think the game looks like it’s going to be really good with lots of new features! ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Hi Amy! ^_^ I’m not sure how the catching up is going… I’m only up to May, LOL. It’s quite nice not having the responsibility of taking care of flowers, though, so I’m… taking my time and enjoying it? ๐Ÿ˜›

      I did see that! The other day I randomly thought to check for AC:3DS updates again and found that video that was one day old ^^ Forty-seven minutes!! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€
      I’m really amazed by some of the new things they showed, especially the megaphone o_o I really hope they have that in the localisation. From what I saw in the video, it looked like the player called Tank’s name, and a response from Tank appeared in the direction he was in ๐Ÿ˜ฏ I hope the placement of the text wasn’t a coincidence. I’m really impatient for more news now! x3 And hoping the localisation is released at least by March next year >_>

      1. Oh, that’s really good to hear! I’m so glad you’ve made some progress and that you’re enjoying catching up. ๐Ÿ˜€

        The prospect of catching up for me became pretty overwhelming as time went on; originally I planned to time-travel through it all with flowers around town and watering them everyday, but now I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t do that if I were to go back to playing someday. >_< I'm not sure what I'd do… probably put away/transfer my flowers and skip more than one day at a time or something, although that would put me in danger of losing neighbors, so I guess I would have to play all the days. ๐Ÿ˜

        I'm not impatient for more information since I'd like some things in the game to be a surprise as I'm playing it for the first time, but I am really anxious to play it! It looks so good, some of the changes are like a dream come true for me :lol:, like all the new ways you can customize your town (outdoor decorations, realistic non-pattern paths, patterns with more colors available than the old palettes, new flowers and bushes) and house (choosing the location and how the outside looks like). I remember in one of your early posts you were wishing that the player houses in Wild World could have roof tiles instead of being smooth, and now we'll be able to control that in AC:3DS, it's almost like you predicted it. ๐Ÿ˜› The graphics look really nice too, more realistic but still whimsical and a bit cartoony. But these are all aesthetic things, I'm sure the actual gameplay will be great as well. xP

        1. Haha, well I can’t deny that I’d rather play AC:3DS than get more news, of course! ๐Ÿ˜› But since Japan is getting it very soon, I’ll probably be looking up screenshots and trying to gather info on customisation options in the meantime. I think I saw a picture of the 3DS version of the “standard”/DS style player’s house; it looked quite nice! I think what I’m most looking forward to though is simply the ability to WiFi with all of you, hassle-free. I can’t wait! x3

          For someone to whom the prospect of watering all those flowers until they’ve caught up with real time looks overwhelming (like me), I think the first step needs to be to transfer all your flowers. You’ll only become more overwhelmed by them with every day you hesitate. Then for the first few flower-free days, you could focus on locking all your neighbours. It wasn’t my intention, but right now all of my villagers are locked together and nobody is going anywhere. That’s if you have any intention of coming back to play ๐Ÿ™‚

          1. Oh, I thought Japan already had it for some reason. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ So that’s going to add a lot to the news… it would be interesting to look at any Japanese Animal Crossing blogs there might be to see their screenshots of the game (I heard that there will be an in-game camera like City Folk), and see how they use the new customizations for their towns and such.

            Thanks for the advice, if I want to catch up in Dafdilly I’ll definitely not mess with watering and I’ll try to at least lock my favorite neighbors. Though I’ve noticed that usually only neighbors with gardening/shell collecting/walking hobbies will ask for delivery favors, is that the same for you? It seems like quite a feat to lock all your neighbors, I’ve never been able to do that before.

            I also really like this background! It looks great with your theme too. With mine, I worked really hard on adding lots of different color balloons to the background, but I think only a few balloons are visible because my theme only shows the background in two small slivers on the sides. Oh well. ๐Ÿ˜› The twinkling stars are so pretty!

            1. Oh yeah that’s right, only the non-item-demanding neighbours will send you on errands (because the rest take the opportunity to ask for fish/bugs/furniture/clothes). The recipients might be of any hobby, though. I didn’t do all the locking with one character, either. Sidney, Rain and Breeze all have some pairs of villagers locked and that possibly means I have some cases where the same villager is locked in more than one errand.

              I saw this GIF on the internet and really wanted to try it as a background xP I actually wanted to share this person’s Tumblr page with you. They do amazing work hacking their own game and making animations with GIFs, and I’ve been completely absorbed in looking through it page by page. Some of them are really cool (like an animation of changing seasons), and others are really funny ๐Ÿ˜› That’s the link to their “GIF” tag, but you can also see some GIFs on their main page that they forgot to tag, though you’d have to sift through a lot of other (not uninteresting) Animal Crossing stuff. They also made GIFs from the AC:GC version. Enjoy, if you haven’t before :mrgreen:

              PS. I think I’ll change this background back for now for easier reading ^^;

            2. Oh okay, I thought so but wasn’tsure. I probably don’t talk to my neighbors enough so that’s why I’ve had trouble locking neighbors in the past. xP I spend most of my time in AC watering flowers, landscaping, trying to make patterns. I guess a good way to lock neighbors would be to talk to a neighbor who you notice has one of those non-requesting hobbies with all your different human characters, maybe even resetting if they ask you to deliver a letter to a neighbor you don’t want to lock, and trying again…

              Wow, those are really impressive! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ I have emulator versions of all the games and photoshop, but I have no idea how to make gifs. ๐Ÿ˜› I went back several pages and saw the twinkling star gif with a beautiful waterfall gif below it, a really nice City Folk fountain gif, and this one, which is definitely my favorite. Their Wild World town is so pretty! I see some of our favorite cottage house styles. ๐Ÿ˜› I wonder how they are able to play a game from a Wild World cartridge on an emulator also? That’s awesome they can get both regular camera shots and crystal clear screenshots of their town! Thanks for the link ๐Ÿ™‚

              1. I thought you might be interested in those time lapse ones ๐Ÿ™‚ Yeah the waterfall under the twinkling stars looked so serene I couldn’t help saving it into my computer and then stealing half of it for my background.
                Back when I tried my hand at GIFs I would watch something over and over until I got a screenshot of each frame… then join it up -_-

  8. Background looks great, can’t wait for more updates!!

    1. Thanks Jemma! I was wondering, do my followers all get notified every time I do a little edit? =.= (Do you get notified every time?) I kind of don’t mean for that to happen, spamming everyone with unimportant updates >_>

      1. Sorry for the late reply!
        Don’t worry, I don’t think they do, at least I don’t ๐Ÿ˜›
        See you got a new post up, better go check it out!!

        1. Oh, that’s good then ๐Ÿ˜› Thanks for answering.

  9. Hiya nice blog! No one looks at mine and I don’t have any friends yet!! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ But your ACWW blog is SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH cooler then mine ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you for dropping by ๐Ÿ™‚ Clicking on your name currently goes to the WordPress homepage (katrinasanimalcrossingwifi doesn’t exist), so maybe it’ll help if you change the URL to your actual blog?

  10. Here’s my link. Maybe it will work? http://katrinasanimalcrossingwifi.wordpress.com/

    1. Ah I see, the URL linked to your name has a typo in the “wordpress”. You’re missing a D. You’ll get more views if you have the right URL in your username. Otherwise, it’s completely impossible for people to find your blog ๐Ÿ˜‰
